Natural versus supernatural is not a Biblical distinction. The Bible talks about miracles, signs and wonders. One of the Greek words used to refer to miracles is dunamis. And yet Heb. 1:3 has Christ “upholding all things by the word of His dunamis.” It’s all miracle.

I’m more historically-challenged than I thought. Um, Galileo - the Catholic Church - the Middle Ages — Ug. It turns out that Baxter was a contemporary of Galileo as well - the latter was forced to recant in 1633 - so it’s not really surprising to find Aristotle’s influence still around. I’ve just been reading Kuhn on the Copernican Revolution, so I think I’ve gotten myself straightened out somewhat. The revolution wasn’t completed until Newton formulated a coherent system, and Kuhn points out that the Catholic Church’s rejection of the scientific novelties was part of the Counter Reformation.
